I guess I’ve discovered a pattern. Apps without iCloud integration are approved in hours and everything iCloud needs weeks.
However – the latest Write update finally made it into the App Store and the rulers now work again without glitches, creating new documents from templates should also work without hiccups under Snow Leopard now and I’ve also fixed some other boring bugs.
A quick note about Word documents and images. Because Write is now a sandboxes App I had to drop support for exporting Word ‘97 documents with images embedded. But I am already working on a solution…

Write on the Mac App Store
Write every day. Habits are things you get for free, without requiring any special work. Set a daily word target. Make it small. 75 words a day is a novel a year. Finish in the middle of a sentence, so you can type three or four words the next day without having to be “creative.” Don’t get in the habit of only writing when there’s some ritual that’s been satisfied — the right music, a clean apartment, whatever.

Finally!
After five weeks the latest update for Write has been approved by Apple. And it is a big one.
Enhanced for iCloud.
All your documents.
On all your Macs.
Everywhere.
In addition Write now has its own templates section and you know me – I had to reinvent them. The Write templates actually can be used as boilerplates as well. You can even drag-and-drop them into documents.
I’ve also been able to fix all the Sandbox-related bugs. Saving will now work under Lion without hiccups and the Inspector should work fine, again.
I’ve also improved the layout view and added an option to select the fullscreen behavior under Lion as well as the possibility to suppress the Resume feature…

Write on the Mac App Store

I’ve just submitted the latest update for Write and the word processor for the rest of us is now able to store its documents on the iCloud. I’ve also added a sophisticated templates section that can also be used to insert often used boilerplates.
As requested one can now also toggle the layout view and choose wether the Lion fullscreen view maintains the window/page width or not.
This update was a piece of work and I hopefully could fix the stupid Sandbox related bugs caused by GC – or in other words: Write is now completely ARC enabled and thus 64-Bit only. Sorry – but there is no chance to have it both ways.
I really hope that Apple will approve this important update as fast as possible …

Write on the Mac App Store

Write is the 5th week in a row Top Paid Business App now and I just wanted to say:
THANKS!

Apple finally approved the latest update for Write. And btw. – thanks for constantly keeping Write in the Top 10 (on the US store).
This latest update is a big one. Write now has the same features of its bigger sibling. Or at least the guideline and Sandbox compatible ones.
And a new icon. And lots of new features and improvements. Still for the same low price…

Write on the Mac App Store

I’ve just submitted my first app for the Mac App Store.
It’s myWritings little sister - Write.
In the next days I will also submit Diary, Recipes, Texts and Wallet.
I’ve decided to give it a try.
If it is the same ‘crap’ like the iPhone App Store with a frustrating review process and 3 sales per day - even when in top 100 I will continue to concentrate on my own site and store.
But hey, maybe…
